New York State's First "TIMposium"

Posted by Tom G. on May 12th 2017

On May 5th, New York State hosted its first state wide "TIMposium" - Traffic Incident Management Symposium in Oriskany, NY. In attendance were representatives from several towing businesses, local and state law enforcement, the NYS Department of Transportation, and the fire service.

The objectives of the training were to insure that incidents sites are managed effectively, to make an incident response rapid and efficient, to create a response that minimizes traffic backups, increase worker safety around the incident site, and to improve incident site communications.

Seminars and live demonstrations were given. Sessions and demonstrations included an On Scene Exercise, Incident Recap Seminar, TIM Training, and an overview of a Traffic Management Center followed by a demonstration on a simulated Traffic Management Center.

On display, we had our Incident Management Sign kit and a Flex-Safe Barricade. The Sign kit is designed so that one sign can display up to 15 different messages. For more information about the Incident Management Sign kit, please contact us.

All in all, it was a very interesting and informative day. We are looking forward to the next TIMposium !!
